Let Me

There has to be more to life than this
Than moving day to day
Instead of drifting back and forth
Will I find a place to stay?

My happiness is up to me
Not others who can't stay
I let him go to be on his own
It was a price I had to pay.

The years have passed without him
On the periphery he stands
If only he would look at me
So I can offer him my hand.

Inside my head I'm screaming
'I LOVE YOU! LET ME HELP!'
Instead you turn away from me
I sit alone upon a shelf.
