Night Terrors and Blackouts and Migraines, Oh My!

For more than two weeks now my sleep has been the absolute worst I can ever — EVER — remember.

Not just night terrors.

VIVID-waking-with-a-scream-or-sob-stuck-in-my-throat-body-drenched-in-sweat-curled-into-a-tight-ball-fists-clenched-eyes-swollen-and-wet-with-tears-TERRORS.

Terrors that I can tell you about in gory detail.

Muscles frozen and aching from fighting whatever demons stole a dreamless sleep from me, my head pounding and my mouth dry as sand there have been a few instances that I have awakened completely confused with no idea who or where I am, or what time or day of the week it is.

Even more baffling are the blackouts. It feels as though my blood pressure drops out, I feel dizzy, I lose vision in both eyes and my mind goes blank. The duration of each episode is very brief.  In one instance, I was standing in a store looking at an item on a shelf, and still standing when it was over. A little disoriented, yet still standing.

The migraines are just the icing on the cake of frustration.  Mostly they come after a night of being terrorized, and understandably so. Other times what starts off as an ordinary headache will ramp up to the point that even the slightest motion of my head makes me feel like hurling my guts out.

When will this ride be over?
